AI Engineer - Engineering background, AWS

Nuage is partnering with a leading consultancy who are embedding an AI Engineer directly into one of Australia's largest financial institutions to work on a high-priority AI engineering program.

This is an on site delivery role - you'll be working alongside internal engineering teams, working on production AI use cases across an AWS-native stack, collaborating with senior architects and platform engineers, and operating inside a regulated financial services environment where governance, security, and quality standards are non-negotiable. 

What you'll be doing:
  • Building and shipping AI-powered solutions across an AWS AI stack
  • Working with agentic frameworks to design and implement AI workflows
  • Contributing to RAG pipelines, LLM evaluation, and observability tooling
  • Writing production-grade code with proper CI/CD, testing, and documentation standards
What you'll need:
  • 3–5 years software engineering experience with Python and/or TypeScript
  • Hands-on AWS AI experience with Bedrock, SageMaker, AgentCore, or Lambda in an enterprise environment
  • Agentic framework experience: LangChain, LangGraph, OpenAI Agent SDK, or similar
Bonus points for:
  • RAG implementation in production
  • MCP server or client experience
  • AgentCore in a live enterprise environment
The detail:
  • 6-month contract with strong potential to extend
  • Hybrid on-site, Sydney or Melbourne
  • Australian citizen or permanent resident
